We allocate generous amounts of disk storage space for your use. You can store over 300
average web pages (graphics and all) within 10 Mb.
To get your own domain name (www.yourname.com) you need to register the name through an
appropriate registrar. We register all types of domain names (.com, .net, etc) and we are
extremely competitive. the pricing structure for some of these are different so for a more
accurate cost please go to our Domain Registration page.
Each time someone visits your web site they transfer Data from and in some cases to your web
site. The average site requires about 500Mb to 5000mb (5 gb) of data transfer each month. We are
pleased to offer generous amounts of transfer on our Starter, Business and Corporate
accounts, Please see our account policies for further details.
Our total connectivity to the Internet is over 600 Mbps! That is very fast! We have a 99.9%
uptime track record - in most months your site will be online 100% of the time. Our network
is fully switched and all servers are fed
from a multi-homed backbone and have conditioned UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) power
that will run if utility power fails. The UPS power subsystem is N+1 redundant with
instantaneous failover in case the primary UPS fails. In the event of an extended power
outage, an on-site diesel generator can run indefinitely. The generator is regularly tested
to ensure that it will continue to function in the event of an emergency.
Our network fully supports BGP4 which provides great redundancy and helps your data avoid
Internet trouble spots. Our facility has full backup power including a backup generator in
case of extended power outages. The center is monitored 24 hours a day by a comprehensive
security system supplemented by video surveillance equipment.
We will set you up to receive email messages at you@yourdomain.com. A POP email account is
basically a mailbox on our server which you can access through mail software such as
Microsoft Outlook or web-based systems such as NeoMail.

When you host your site with us, you have access to unlimited email accounts @yourdomain.com
the only limitation is the disk space of the account you have purchased.
Each mailbox you setup can be managed through the control panel that comes with each hosting account,
with total control of allowable disk space per email account etc. They also come with a browser-based interface
(WebMail) to access your indavidual email accounts from any computer, anywhere without requiring an email
client program (OutLook) to do so.
Autoresponders are a great marketing tool and can save you time answering common questions.
You can set up an autoresponder so that when a message is sent to, say, info@yourdomain.com,
then your pre-written message is automatically returned to the sender. All our hosting
packages allow you to set up an unlimited number of these.
You can choose to forward your email to a different account anywhere on the web. This is
easily achieved through a web-based interface.

We set you up with a CGI Bin and pre-install a set of useful scripts for you. Many hosting
companies claim to provide "pre-installed" scripts but they do not actually
configure them for you, so they are not ready to use. We install and configure your CGI
scripts so that you don't need to know any CGI in order to use them. The scripts we provide

If you have built your site with FrontPage and you are using any FrontPage active elements
such as hit counters, search forms and so on, then you will need to have the FrontPage Server
Extensions installed on your site. The server extensions also make it possible for you to
publish your site using FrontPage, and allow you to edit your site directly on the Internet
using FrontPage. Our servers support the server extensions for Microsoft FrontPage
2002/2000/98/97. The extensions are included for free on all accounts.
You can access your account via FTP 24 hours a day, every day of the year. You can upload you
site using FTP, or you can use the Bright-Byte control panel instead.

You have access to daily statistical reports about your site's traffic. The reports will
include information about visitors, page views, file accesses, referrers, browsers used by
your visitors, platforms used by your visitors, visitors' hosts, visitors' top-level domains,
and the most common entry and exit pages. These reports are among the most detailed and
useful around, but you will also have access to your raw log files in case you want to examine
the data further.
Server side includes are a neat and simple way of repeating blocks of HTML code in different
web pages. The file containing repetitive HTML code can be included in any page(s) you like
with only one line of HTML code (a server side include statement).
Our servers support C/C++, Perl 5, PHP and Python. Your web pages can also include Java
applets (though not java servlets).
You can restrict access to any directory on your site so that visitors are prompted for a user
name and password in order to access any files in the directory.
When a visitor to your site tries to access a page that does not exist or a page they are not
allowed to access etc, they will usually receive Apache's default error message. If you prefer, you can set up
your account so that your own customized error pages are displayed instead,
perhaps with a link to your home page (or whatever you like).

The shopping carts also come with an easy-to-use Catalog Manager. The Catalog Manager
enables you to add, edit and delete shopping cart items with ease.

GPG (GNU Privacy Guard) is an OpenPGP compliant application which enables you to encrypt data
on your web site. It is compatible with PGP 5.x and has very similar functionality. If your
site comes with secure server access, we will set up GPG for you for free. If you intend to
receive sensitive information over the web, SSL access alone does not guarantee the safety of
your data. SSL keeps the information safe as it travels to your web site, but does not provide
any protection once the data arrives. GPG can be used to immediately encrypt the data when it
arrives at your web site - you only decrypt it once you have downloaded it to your hard drive.
That gives you peace of mind knowing that the information your customers enter into your
secure form will be safe all the way across the web. We install a special version of FormMail
on your secure server so that, when you receive sensitive information via your secure server,
you can have the information immediately encrypted and mailed to you in encrypted form. Once
you have retrieved your mail from the server, it can be easily and safely decrypted on your
hard drive using your PGP or GPG software.
